Garden Gallery

Wherever I’ve been there’s been a garden.

At Art College it was window boxes and loads of house plants. Here in this sheltered hollow in the Galloway Hills it’s a little more extensive and rather more extreme. In an area of about 2 acres the garden wends its way taking up a bit of decoration here and a poly tunnel or four there.

The Market Garden intensive beds have left only echo’s of their former selves. While the top fruit trees and soft fruit bushes are still with us and productive. There are Figs, Grapes, Peaches Cherries and Plums. Even the Apricot seems to have settled in -after 5 years. There’s even some seasonal Veg growing in and between the flower beds.

It has to be said though that one thing this Garden has never been Is Tame. Garden Beds and Productive Beds have always been surrounded by healthy Natural planting. Now thereis less of a fight -from me- for growing space, we are getting along just fine. Nature covers where I leave off and the life in the garden gets on with its own business without much interference from me. Although the Deer is kept in the top wood as much as possible.
